Acquisition combines Vanguard’s established utility partnerships and energy-efficiency expertise with CET Energy Solutions’ national resources and expanded capabilities.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — October 29, 2026 — Vanguard Building Solutions (VBS), a leading New Jersey-based energy services company, today announced its acquisition by CET Energy Solutions, a rapidly growing national electrical and energy infrastructure services company backed by Broad Sky Partners.
The acquisition marks an important milestone for Vanguard, positioning the company to expand its services, enter new markets and undertake larger, more complex energy infrastructure projects while maintaining its commitment to customers and utility partners.
Founded in 2013, Vanguard has built a strong reputation for delivering turnkey energy solutions, including HVAC upgrades, LED lighting, building automation, solar and other energy conservation measures. Under the leadership of founder and CEO Mike Sherman, the company has tripled its revenue over the past five years and established relationships with major utilities throughout New Jersey and New York.
“This is an exciting new chapter for Vanguard, our employees and the customers who have placed their trust in us,” said Mike Sherman, Founder and CEO of Vanguard Building Solutions.
“We have built this company on innovative solutions, exceptional service and lasting relationships. Joining CET Energy Solutions gives us the financial strength, technical resources and national reach to accelerate our growth while preserving the personal attention and accountability that have defined Vanguard. Most importantly, this opportunity recognizes the extraordinary team that has made our success possible.”
Vanguard’s industry achievements include recognition as PSE&G’s No. 1 Trade Ally for 2023 and the 2025 Energy Champion Company of the Year by EEA-NJ. The company has also secured exclusive utility closed-network opportunities with Atlantic City Electric and Jersey Central Power & Light.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike Sherman and the entire Vanguard team to the CET Energy Solutions family,” said John J. Duquette, CEO of CET Energy Solutions. “Their deep utility relationships, energy-efficiency expertise and commitment to customers make them a natural fit with our culture. We’re excited to have them on board and look forward to building what’s next as one team.”
Expanded Resources, Same Commitment
As part of CET Energy Solutions, Vanguard will gain access to expanded engineering, electrical construction, solar and energy storage capabilities, along with additional financial resources to support larger projects and continued growth.
For Vanguard’s customers, employees and utility partners, the combination brings expanded opportunities while building on the relationships and service standards that have been central to the company’s success.
“Our commitment to our customers and utility partners remains unchanged,” Sherman added.
“What changes is our ability to do more. Together with CET Energy Solutions, we can deliver broader solutions, pursue larger opportunities and create an even stronger future for our employees and the customers we serve.”
